Renewable energy promise side-tracked by fast-track work

Policy work on renewable energy has been delayed as the Government prioritises work on the Fast-Track Approvals Bill.
The first draft of a new National Policy Statement on Renewable Energy, which would require councils to issue consents for renewable power generation within a year of application, was supposed to be released within six months of the Government coming to power.
